Company History

1970

During this time, our company began as Surgical Implants Products (SIP), a specialty division of Stuart Drug and Surgical.

1984

In the early 1980s, the company entered the spinal implant business representing Sofamor, a privately owned French company, which was sold to Danek. It was then sold again to Medtronic Inc., a distributor of spinal implants to the United States market.

1990

Ralph Liberatore founded Howmedica Three Rivers.

1998

Stryker Corporation, a global leader in the orthopaedic marketplace, purchased Howmedica Inc., a Pfizer company. Stryker then combined the Osteonics division with Howmedica Inc. to market and distribute both orthopaedic and spinal implants globally.

Howmedica Three Rivers’ name changed to Three Rivers Orthopaedics and Spine Inc. and was then awarded an exclusive agreement to represent Stryker in the Mid-Atlantic area.

2007

In the beginning of this year, Craig Liberatore was named President of Three Rivers Orthopaedic and Spine Products Inc. and also presides as the Agent Principal for the Stryker distribution of implants.

Three Rivers is an independent distributor of technology-based medical devices based in Latrobe, PA. Our family of employees pride themselves in delivering the highest levels of reliability and service through a strong core of business relationships. Having three offices located strategically in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, we can reach all of the major medical and community centers in these states with same-day service.

Our sales professionals and surgical technicians are on call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and are certified with the highest industry credentials. We consistently exceed our customers’ service expectations. Each year, we are responsible for completing advanced training programs with interactive seminars and hands-on workshop programs that help drive our customers’ efficiency. The goal of our consultative selling process is to partner with our customers and always do what is right.

Utilizing our own courier program, our drivers are trained to understand the high complexity and importance of products arriving complete and on time. The customer service team is dedicated to live assistance and support, while our operations and distribution department provides delivery programs that allow our products to be accessible when the patient and surgeon need them. Every employee works with the highest integrity and supports the AdvaMed Code of Ethics.
